Should I stay or should I go?

My friend Tom, who works in the computer industry, got recently a phone call from an ex colleague for a job opening. After a successful interview, he was offered the job. But now Tom is reconsidering, and he asked me to do a reading to compare the two options, staying at his current job or moving on to the new opportunity.

For these kind of choices, line readings of 3 cards are the best choice, one line per option, and then compare the results. The first line is what will happen if he stays at the current job, the second one what happens if he takes the new opportunity.

For the current job, it is certainly something familiar, a situation where he feels at home, but he is literally hitting a wall. There are obstacles moving forward, advancement seems compromised.

For the new opportunity, it already bodes well that Tom is present in the spread. This new job is certainly going to be stressful for Tom at the beginning, but over time he is going to find serenity and satisfaction.

As the choice seems easy to make, Tom asked how he should act to maximize his chances to succeed in his new career. For these kinds of questions, either descriptive or about advice, I really like doing a 3×3, I have always found that the disposition of the cards suits well the task and can give a maximum of information for the number of cards.

For this spread, I always start by looking at the suits, this way I can check what is dominant and if some trend can be deducted. Next, I look at the middle and first cards, the middle one acts as a focal point and the first one as a trigger. Next, I read the corners as influences over the situation, followed by the diamond around the central card, for additional details. Once this is done, we can look at lines, columns and diagonals to add a bunch of additional little details; however sometimes these details overlap and can become repetitive.

If we look first at the cartomancy, we have a majority of clubs, so we can expect some difficulties to make the best of this job. Hopefully, the mixture of hearts and spades will temper the clubs and will add some enjoyment and a good progression for Tom.

With the stork as central card, the main theme is certainly to try to provide positive changes, provide some elevation to his team, and this, repeatedly, as the ring acts as trigger. Looking at the corners, he has to take the commitment to be an immovable force, be the one moving obstacles out of the way. He should keep a low profile (fish, clouds) while providing changes (stork) that will allow him to become over time the strong one, the leader (tree, bear).

So, the best way for him to act, is to be a key player, a problem solver. But at the same time he should stay humble, over time his leadership will become a de facto fact by his actions.

If we look at the lines, he should take the commitment to be the one to deeply anchor everybody, that will allow him to fly over potential problems over time, and to be strong enough to move mountains.

For the columns, we see dealing with repeated unclear and difficult situations, he’ll need to find abundant ways to be strong and fly above them, hoping that his career will move over time.

Diagonals show that he should become the foundation for getting over problems, and his commitment should help him to elevate himself and sail in this company.
