The times we are living in are strange, a situation most of us haven’t seen in our lifetime. Having to stay confined at home for probably quite some time, facing an enemy we cannot see. Nobody has a real idea on how the situation will evolve.
As a Lenormand reader, I usually turn to my cards to get some clarification when faced with uncertainty. Not that I’m especially looking at what’s going to happen, I’m looking more for some kind of advice.
I asked “what should we know about the situation created by the corona virus?” Of course, I do not believe that the future is set in stone, the future is fluid and can be impacted by many things. I see this reading first as a general guidance for myself. As the present situation happens on a global space, this reading of course could not predict what is happening everywhere in the world.
First observation, it’s quite interesting to find the Key in the middle, as the focus card. It tells us not only that people are looking for solutions. But it asks us also to look at what is important, what is capital in our lives.
Looking at the diamond around the Key, the Garden, the Whip, the Birds and the Clouds, it really shows how all groups of people feel the pain of the virus, so much unknown creates anxious talks.
I am not surprised. As shown on the first line, we can see that virus moving through places and spreading, and that’s on our minds. As a consequence, on the second line showing what we’re dealing with, we can see ourselves arguing, beating ourselves up, because there’s no clear solution yet. We have to deal with the uncertainties represented by the Clouds. As a result, as shown on the last line, we take whatever opportunity is left, the small things, and we talk about how we can dream about them.
The columns give us a progression through time when we go from left to right. We start with the Ship and Whip, that virus is moving, spreading over great distance, and creating much pain. Two heavy cards weighting on the clover, that leaves us with not much, that leaves us with whatever small things that can give us a little bit of happiness. The middle column shows that the whole world is looking for solutions and anxious about it. All these possible solutions that we talk about are encouraging, they lead us to the third column. I like to see the Star as the first card, a card of hope, success for the future, even if the Clouds leave some uncertainty. The Moon as the final card is certainly the best that could happen in this reading, it shows a positive outcome, some success. It bodes well to find a solution, that the Key hinted at in the middle.
